Thursday Thoughts - Who will replace Steve Carrell?

Many of my readers are big fans of The Office TV show as I am.  The question now circling the Internets is who will replace Steve Carrell when he leaves the show at the end of this season?

Some are reporting that the producers would like Harvey Keitel.  I'm not a big fan of his, but so far the producers have hit 100% with the casting.

Here's my suggestion for a replacement:  Christopher Walken

He can play drama and comedy, is a great dancer, and can be entirely creepy.  I could imagine some great scripts with Walken and the Office character Creed. Walken has been terrific in comedy sketches on Saturday Night Live.

How about it folks?  Who do you nominate?

I think Drew Carey would be great: not too good looking, plenty of improv experience, and he worked in an office!

Drew is good, but I sorta like Harvey Keitel too. Did you see him in any of those "Smoke" movies from the 60s/70s? But Walken is, like you say, really talented and they don't come creepier if creep is what they're after. What about that little short guy, Danny Devito? That would add a different layer, wouldn't it?

gls: I always liked Drew on his own show, but is he boss material?

Alice: Danny Devito has always been good at playing little Napoleon type characters. I think Walken could do a great job without being creepy, but creepiness could add to the mix. Look at Creed, Meredith, and even Dwight - all have some creepy quirks about them.
