How, after years of extolling the sanctity of marriage, can an elderly pious church pastor reconcile "living in sin" with his new lady partner for the simple reason of retaining her entitlements (i.e. social security, pensions, etc) that would be lost if they formally married? .
He thinks a Unity Ceremony is the answer. Of course, a marriage of God but not of the law. He can have it both ways. Ministers are so good at worming their way around their sanctimonious preachings to others. Apparently his former morality issues have been displaced by the evil forces of money and greed.
Yet that was never an option in the eyes of his church if his parishioners behaved exactly the same way. They would burn in hell for their indiscretions.
Televangelists and small town preachers, this is just another example of the hypocrisy of organized religion that fuels the skepticism of me and other non-believers.
