Music Monday (Earworm Alert!)

  1. Aaaaaaaaaaaargggghhhhh....

I googled the lyrics. I copy and paste...

'Weeheeheehee dee heeheeheehee weeoh aweem away.

Weeheeheehee dee heeheeheehee weeoh aweem away.

Aweem away, aweem away, aweem away, aweem away

aweem away, aweem away, aweem away, aweem away'

    ermmm...

    quite so.

I had a geography teacher at school who used to refer to the jungle as the 'jung-hole'. No, I don't know why either. Apart from the fact it seemed to amuse him to do so.

  4. white: What amuses teachers often doesn't amuse students, and vice versa.

red: Me, too. I heard it the other day and still can't get it out of my head. Now I hope it has left me and has infected your ear. It may be the only way to stay sane.

  5. That song was a favorite of mine when I was a kid, and I still find myself whistling it from time to time. Go to YouTube and check out the versions by the Weavers (with Pete Seeger) and the Kingston Trio (both of which were recorded before the Tokens made the song theirs).

Perhaps the oddest version was this one by Yma Sumac, who allegedly had a vocal range of more than four octaves.

    That oughta cure your earworm!
