New meaning to term Tree Hugger
The latest in knitted art. Sweater trees. Knitters have gone bonkers knitting coverings for park benches, telephone poles, and anything else they feel needs to be covered. These may even be worse than Christmas sweaters.
Go on, tell me it didn't make you laugh or even chuckle slightly ;) Some of us artists are free spirits too :) That it garnered national attention astonishes me, but there you go!
Well if we start going into the glen Katherine then you might be right to be concerned. This is a tree right in the heart of downtown yellow springs, outside the local cafe. It is a community tree in that most of the locals gather under it. I am corrine in the article, and am not a knitter per se. I am a multi media artist who can knit and uses yarn just like any other material I recycle for free art projects. If you are concerned about the health of the tree just check out our (non commercial) website. www.jafagirlart.com

ReplyDeleteOf course they made me laugh. I love things out of the ordinary.
ReplyDeleteLaughable yes, but a serious concern for area wildlife. Knitters scare me sometimes (and some of my favorite people knit *love you Megan*).
